Writer. Photographer. Awesome.

Goal Number 2

This piece helped me to use some of the strategies that I had learned from Khaled Hossein, my favorite strategy being repetition. I feel this piece really captures my creativity as a writer. At first I was terrified to use time shifts, fearing that they wouldn't make sense or that it would be difficult for my audience to draw from them what I needed them to. However I do think I was able to use them effectively to establish the positive relationship between my father and I, and then later convey the full impact that his poor decisions had on me. I also used this piece to really explore the use of repetition and used it to continue to help establish the strong bond between my father and I. In addition I used fairly strong and descriptive imagery diction to emphasize the chaos of the moment and establish the stormy tone that surrounds my piece. Further reflection and elaboration on my choices are included in my rhetorical analysis after the piece.

Goal Number 5 (My Personal Growth: Part 2)

Another weakness I had was really a lack of confidence in myself and my abilities as a writer. Throughout the class as I received positive feedback, good grades, and constructive criticism I was able to start developing my confidence. This lead me to the beginning stages of accomplishing one of my biggest dreams; writing a novel. Attached is said novel thus far. It is completely unedited and in the very early developmental stages, but sharing it is something I never would have done without the help of the confidence I was able to begin gaining throughout the class.
